Actor biography
Funny old things biographies..they are supposed to inform..but they kinda chafe with the idea that those in the public spotlight are entitled to their privacy..so in view of this..here is my very own "Very vague Ben Browder Biography page" (Oh and a big hug to Kelly Hill for helping me out..and making this page a just a little less vague!<g>)

Name:Ben Browder...Well actually it's Robert Benedic Browder..but he has always gone by Ben..or Benny..<g> Age:He's in his 30's..(you can send him a birthday card on 11th December..)but can I point out he's just a bairn..a wee slip of a lad..so no.."Good grief I didn't realise he was that old" round here please..otherwise I'll have to slap you with a wet kipper! |

Um..er..stuff<g>:Ben is 6ft 1 inches tall..(no he's not 5ft 10, 11...or 3 inches tall..he is over 6 foot..it's just that the rest of the cast are very,very tall too and subsequently make him look as though he is stood in a hole!)He has blue eyes and reddy brown hair ..and erm...he's not hard on the ol' eyeballs..but that sounds very superficial of me..<g>(Heheh..just call me SUPER-ficial girl..faster than a speeding bullet...I drool foes into submission!<g>) |

| Marital status:Married<Insert uncontrollable sobbing from half the female population of the planet here..>to Fran Buller who played M'Lee in Bone to be wild..and Ro Na in The Look at the Princess Trilogy.(So you may have twigged she's an actress too!) | ||
| Children:He might have sprogs..but then again he might not..and just for sake of argument if he did have some, he would probably want to keep them out of the spotlight completely..(smart man!)..but this is theoretical you understand..<g>And please if you hear anything about these theoretical entities please ask the person who is passing this info around to bear in mind Ben's feelings on the subject and delete as necessary..the cast of Farscape get little privacy as it is..let's not decrease the amount..(okay I'll fall off my soap box now.<thud>)Thanks... | ||

Likes:Okay off the top of my head it's widely documented he likes surfing(hopelessly addicted to it by the sounds of it..I guess the solitude it provides for a short while helps keep him relatively sane!Plus there's nothing more thrilling than riding a wave I guess...though personally I wouldn't be too thrilled at standing under a ton of water on what looks like an ironing board!<g>Ahh each to their own..) He also likes...Mountain dew(a sweet soft drink),Clark Bars(chocolate-yey!- bar),biscuits with Crisco in them..(Crisco I have been told is like vegetable oil..),Shakespeare,Science Fiction,..um..did I mention he likes surfing??lol.... He is also partial to..Tim Tams(Australian chocolate(yey!) biscuit and Caramello bars,music by Otis Redding,Lynard Skynard and Memphis blues/jazz. More likes courtesy of Farscape magazine number 2..Ben likes the tv show "The West Wing" ,music wise he likes funk too,fave word is "yes".He's a morning and evening person..just not a big fan of midday..<g>Fave Icecream flavour-Rocky Road(Marshmallows and chocolate..yum!)And my fave answer...given the choice between chocolate and pasta he chose...(drum roll please...)..CHOCOLATE!!!!!Yey...lol! |

About Ben..: Well here is just a few comments of my own about how Ben comes across from interviews etc(No I haven't met him sadly..or maybe fortunately for him!<g>) I get the impression that Ben is intelligent,very,very funny(he laughs an awful lot!He must have incredible stomach muscles!<g>) and very talented.He has shown us over three seasons of Farscape what sort of range he has as an actor and it is very extensive.Plus add to this, he has also penned scripts..which means he is anything but just a pretty face :) Also I have heard comments from other cast members that he is "like the captain of a ship" and that he is to some extent the heart and soul of Farscape..almost obsessed with it..driving it on-striving everyone to do their best.I sense that he is very proud of what the cast and crew has accomplished so far and from what I hear he works very,very hard and long hours to ensure the shows continued success... Ben is as far from a "stand on your mark and just say the lines" person as you can get.Plus on top of that he comes across as a very caring person..who has alot of patience too(for all I know he could be evil incarnate...and it's just his fantastic acting skills!<g>..But I very much doubt that!)..But anyway..as I trawl through all the stuff on my hard disk I'll try and post comments from others about him.. :) Anyway..I think he's lovely..but then that's just my tuppence worth..and as I have devoted this website to him I think you will not be shocked at that admission!<g> Okay then..found the first one...Wayne Pygram's recent comments on Mr Browder.. "Ben [Browder] is amazing. He's one of the hardest-working actors I've ever met. He really puts us to shame in some regards. Ben is the one who really drives the show. He's an admirable captain. Without Ben's energy we would be in trouble, I think. He's in every day and every scene. He's always out to solve the problem. He's got some Australian traits in him [laughs]. We got the right guy. He's a spiritual leader. He doesn't complain, he just shows you how to do it. He humbles people."

Education: Ben went to Myers Park High School, Charlotte NC USA,Furman University getting a BS in psychology then went on to study drama at Central School of Speech and Drama in London.I've read somewhere that he wanted to be a Airforce pilot..but realised he wanted to hang out with women rather than men all day!<g>(Dammit..I'm in the wrong job!!!<g>) |
